Another school for Tappy Twins

Well done Leann for getting Tappy Twins yet another school. We can’t wait to work with you Nicola.

Another Fantastic Testimonial

Thank you Kate for this amazing testimonial. Well done Sharon and Leann.

Hempsted C. of E. Primary School

Tappy Twins have been integral in improving the social and emotional outcomes for some of our most vulnerable children, children we would otherwise be unable to reach.

Their therapists are enthusiastic and passionate about helping children overcome whatever challenges they face, enabling them to reach their full potential. Their techniques work for children with all sorts of issues, behaviour and anger, children who have low self-esteem, children who have witnessed domestic abuse, whatever the problem Tappy Twins can provide a solution.

Our children love their time spent with the therapist and can’t wait until the next session. There has been a noticeable improvement in the children’s self-confidence, emotional well-being and willingness to talk, both in the classroom and out.

Tappy Twin’s ran a ten week parenting course at school which was enthusiastically received by our parents who found it not only informative and helpful but great fun.

We have built a strong working relationship with the team – they certainly live up to their value of allowing children to “Feel Good Fast”.

And the good news keeps coming

A huge thanks to the incredible Baron davenports Charity for your generous funding support. We can’t wait to use it to help support vulnerable young people that need help now.

We are expanding again

We are so looking forward to working with 2 new schools in Solihull and Birmingham. Together we can make a huge difference to the children’s lives.

And the good news just keeps on coming!

A huge well done to our fabulous Counsellor Leann Huntley for this incredible feedback. We are so proud to have you with us Leann well done. What a team we have at Tappy Twins helping make such a difference to all the children’s lives. We really do have the best job in the world.

Tappy Twins have been amazing, my son is moderate to high on the Autism spectrum and not good with strangers but within the first session Leann had built trust and had him responding to her questions, which is unheard of. He would come home from school in a highly anxious state, not able to articulate why or what had caused it, anxiety levels built and built to a point of self-harm and suicide attempts. Leann gave him strategies on how he could cope with his emotions, which stopped the self-harming. She also taught him to produce a timeline and within a few short weeks not only could he cope much better with his emotions, but was also able to articulate how he felt and pinpoint what had caused him to feel that way, which allowed adults to better support him. The support received from Tappy Twins has literally been life changing and life saving, we as a family can’t thank them enough.

Kind Regards

Fabulous Parent Feedback from CKA18

Wow!  Is the first thing I would like to say.  Last night was amazing in more than one way.

This is perhaps one of the most difficult messages I have ever written as I don’t think I can ever do justice to the work that you do.

Thank you so much for the work that Tappy Twins have done with my son, I genuinely feel thankful that my child now has the capability to manage his emotional wellbeing in a positive and productive way, to the extent where I feel I have my child back.  I was so proud that he came up onto stage by himself as we really weren’t sure he would.  Leading on from this he wants to share his achievement at school in business assembly which involves going to the front and addressing the whole school, I wouldn’t have believed this was ever possible.  He has never done this before, which shows the work you have done with him is continuing to have a positive effect.  I will never be able to show the extent of my gratitude to you.

You are a truly inspirational person and I am honoured that you have shared your very personal story with me, I can’t imagine where you found the strength to do that.  I admire your passion, commitment and investment into the mental health of the children who are fortunate to cross paths with Tappy Twins.

We were fortunate to have been talking to your parents during the drinks reception and I went up to them afterwards and said how honoured and privileged I feel to have met them.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for the journey which culminated in such a fantastic evening.  You have been our fairy godmother over the last year.

Kind regards

Joanne

Sleep Deprivation

Sleep deprivation can have a very negative effect on the mind and body, including the way in which it functions and processes information. There are a number of different symptoms that are associated with sleep deprivation, although the main (and ongoing) one is excessive sleepiness during the day. Here are some of the other main symptoms that you could be suffering from sleep loss:

  • Yawning frequently
  • Moodiness and irritability
  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Forgetfulness
  • Lapse in concentration
  • Difficulty with cognitive function
  • Impaired motor skills
  • Changes in appetite
  • Blurred vision
  • Disorientation
  • Paranoia and hallucinations
  • Headaches
  • Lack of motivation
  • Reduced sex drive
  • Pain in the body
  • Falling asleep unintentionally
  • Sleeping through alarms

If you think you have some or all of the symptoms of sleep deprivation, it is time to get your schedule back on track so that you can start leading a healthier and more rested life. Of course, if you are really struggling or just want some advice, speaking to your doctor is always an excellent idea. Try these techniques to help you get back on track.

Relaxation techniques: This is a progressive form of muscle relaxing that involves the tensing and untensing of different muscles in the body to help maintain calm. Additionally, medication, mindfulness, breathing exercises, and guided imagery can provide masses of help in this area. There is also the option to use audio recordings to help people fall asleep at night.

Stimulation control: This involves taking control of your activities before you go to bed, as well as your surroundings, so that you can moderate your sleeping patterns effectively. This means doing things like only spending time in bed when you are sleepy, controlling the association between being in bed and being ready to go to sleep.
