The Role of the 1st Aid Champion for Mental Health
A 1st Aid Champion for Mental Health in the workplace is the person to go to if anyone who is going through some form of mental health issue. Their role is to help guide the person in distress to the relevant help that they need. Their job is to be able to use their knowledge and experience to spot someone who is developing a mental health issue. They will, therefore, be able to intervene before it escalates.
It is important to remember that being a 1st Aid Champion for mental health, they are there to support an individual and it doesn’t qualify anyone as a therapist. Instead they are there to non-judgmentally support an individual; and to encourage them to access the professional support that is available.
Who is This Course is Designed For?
This course is for all corporate, healthcare, social care, employers and educational professionals who need to refresh or improve upon their current understanding of mental health. It is also for anyone that anyone who works with, lives with or supports anyone with mental health issues. We will train you to have the skills and confidence to step in and guide them towards the support they need. In doing so, they can speed up their recovery and potentially stop issues from developing into a crisis.
